Experiences are worth traveling for - this idea was developed a hundred years ago by the French brothers André and Édouard Michelin, whose red guide is known and recognized all over the world. In the Czech Republic, the TopLife Czech publishing house followed up on the idea of independent and objective evaluation by long-term monitoring of the quality of selected - experiential - restaurants.
Since 2014, the TopLife Czech publishing house has been publishing the evaluation results of approximately one hundred domestic experience restaurants in the Best Restaurants yearbook. Publisher inspectors anonymously taste food and test the quality of service in the best businesses in the Czech Republic. The result of repeated visits and evaluations is the mark awarded by the publishing house, "Golden Lion". The lowest mark, but unattainable for the vast majority of restaurants in the country, is one Zlatý lev, and for chefs and restaurant owners, the dream highest mark is three Zlatý levi. The organizing publishing house finances the entire project exclusively through the sale of the book guide and advertising. The most important financial supporters are the company Bidfood and, recently, the brand and car manufacturer CUPRA.
